PROFILE

Prof. Thein Win was born in 1956. He passed the marticulation examination in 1972 and joined the Institute of Education in Yangon, from which he gained the Bachelor of Education with Distinction in English in 1977. He joined Rangoon Regional College (1) in 1978 as a tutor of English. He won a British Council scholarship in 1984 and went to the UK for further studies. He gained M.A. in Applied Linguistics from Reading University in England in 1985.On return he was promoted to Assistant Lecturership. He served in several universities in Myanmar, culminating as a Professor of English in the University of Computer Studies and West Yangon Technological University. Now he is retired from public service and has been teaching advanced English courses. He has had the experience of teaching TOEFL and IELTS for almost 30 years, and SAT for 25 years.
